About
Two decades pioneering image-guided urology.
Dr. Art Rastinehad, D.O. is a board-certified urologist and fellowship-trained interventional radiologist. He serves as System Director of Prostate Cancer and Vice Chairman of Lenox Hill Urology at Northwell Health.

A different path into urology
Dr. Rastinehad trained at the National Cancer Institute as an Interventional Urologic Oncologist and is the first urologist in the country to be dual fellowship-trained in Urologic Oncology and Interventional Radiology. That rare combination prepared him to lead the development of MRI/ultrasound fusion biopsy, now the standard of care for prostate cancer detection.
He has authored more than 75 peer-reviewed articles and multiple textbook chapters, including chapters in Campbell-Walsh Urology (11th and 12th editions). He was senior editor of the first comprehensive textbook on the subject, Interventional Urology (Springer, 2016), and was named the AUA Young Urologist of the Year in 2019.

Philosophy of care
Every patient gets a full review of imaging and pathology, a frank conversation about risks and trade-offs, and a written plan they can take home and share with their family. The least-invasive option that achieves the best long-term outcome is always the starting point.
In practice
Beyond the clinic
Lecturing, training the next generation of urologists, and at work in the procedure suite.
